Weekend Review gw19

What a weekend for my team, Christmas came early! Almost everything went right, Lukaku brought home the points on Saturday with a nicely taken goal and my captain transfer to Ramsey on Sunday harvested a cool 32 points with a goal and a clean sweep of passing, tackle and MOTM awards. Monday night football didn’t disappoint either, with Mahrez captain bringing home a goal and MOTM awards that shot me into the top 100 in the world.

My Team

Dawson, Nyom, Van Dijk
Mahrez, Alli, Coutinho, De Bruyne, Mahrez (C)
Kane , Vardy

Week points: 125
Overall points: 1069
Overall rank: 82
Transfers remaining: 20/40
Money in the bank: 3.5mil

The real game changer this week was the decision to bring in and captain my pick of the week. Given his 2% ownership, and the failings of other captains on Sunday, this catapulted me up the rankings. The Welsh man looks a key asset moving forward as he is the only midfielder that offers goal and assist threat but also makes an appearance in my recent bonus point kings article.

My defence also brought in some unexpected hauls this weekend with Butland grabbing a clean sheet and save bonus, Dawson getting a goal against Liverpool and Nyom bringing in an assist, clean sheet and tackle bonus in an impressive display.

The only slight disappointments were the transfers in of Alli and Coutinho. However Coutinho’s moment to shine will be this Sunday as he forms part of my captain strategy and I am happy with Alli in my team as he looked threatening for Spurs and also acts as a great budget enabler.

SFFF League

This looks like a competitive league already with everyone closely bunched together. A particular shout out to Martin Felton for also getting a ton score this week. If you’re yet to join, you can sign up here

If you haven’t already, you can also join our new Facebook group here, where we are already having some good Sky related discussions. As shown in my earlier post, Facebook has many benefits over traditional forums. However, please rest assured that the blog will remain the same, I will still be posting on here and I encourage people to still use the comments system.

Good scores this week from all my defenders, plus Ozil, Mahrez and Lukaku, so pretty happy 🙂 A bit of deadwood to cast aside (Mane and Benteke) which will also be used as part of a plan to have captains on at least the next 5 match days.

Decent week Ian. Who’s you’re MNF captain next week? I can’t decide, may have to be a last minute decision.

It will almost certainly be an Arsenal player due to them playing on 26/28, so either Ozil or Ramsey. The latter more likely if he comes in for Benteke, as he would have had the armband at Vicarage Road the previous day.

Yep, good thinking. I’m slightly worried Wenger may choose to rotate 26/28th, although I think Ramsey should be safe

Think I’m gambling on Kun(c) Monday don’t have any Arsenal attack after getting rid of Sanchez for Kane 👎🏻 Kun has Sunderland (h) next week so hopefully he explodes
