I have an Achilles heal when it comes to fantasy football. His name is Aguero. I just cant seem to resist taking a punt on the Argentine and it has cost me dear once again. I foolishly held onto him as captain and was rewarded with a measly 4 point haul over the whole of gw20. With other captains firing, my rank plummeted.
I have decided to start 2016 with a new year resolution. No Aguero, until he’s proved his fitness and form.
Dawson, Nyom, Van Dijk
Ozil (C), De Bruyne, Ramsey, Alli, Coutinho
Game week points: 90
Overall points: 1240
Overall rank: 212
Transfers remaining: 18/40
Money in the bank: 3.5mil
As you can see, I have belatedly drafted in Ozil and ditched Aguero. Many of you will disagree with this move and see it as a rash point chasing decision after a poor week, particularly with Aguero now fit and looking to start matches on a regular bases. You could well be proved correct, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a haul at the weekend.
But I am done with the Argentine. I just don’t have the patience for an injury prone, out of form player who isn’t getting 90 minutes, especially when there are so many other options who cant stop scoring points.
Captaincy and transfer plans
In stark contrast to Aguero, Vardy has been a dream to own, making a mockery of his 7.3 price tag. But with Vardy and Leicester goal scoring form on the wane, I’ll be trading him out for Lukaku after Leicester play Bournemouth on Saturday.
Although Lukaku’s fixtures aren’t great, this is a long term move. Unless injury strikes, I’ll likely be holding onto the big Belgium for the rest of the season. It will be a 50:50 call between the big Belgum and Kane as to who gets the armband as they square up to each other at Goodison Park on Sunday.
I may struggle to find the time to make regular posts over the next few weeks, but I’ll endeavor to at least make one post per week.
Happy 2016 everyone, may it bring many goals for us all.
