Weekend Review gw 34

As expected, not a great week. But not a terrible one either. Given that Cech didn’t start and I only had one captain, I’ll take the small drop in rank.

Transfers left 8
1.3 banked

Payet, Siggurdsson, Kane, Fuchs  and Aguero continue to churn out the points but a lack of Arsenal did cost me. I gambled on Cech being fit to start but unfortunately he missed the clash with Watford and 7 points along the way. He looks the best bet between the sticks in the run-in though, so I’m not too concerned.

The captain option on Sunday failed to produce. I hope this will give me a small advantage next week as I still have the armband on Aguero for a potentially juicy tie against the baggies.

KDB demands attention

De Bruyne returned with a goal and MOTM award, highlighting his potential to rack up points at a very kind price of 7.8. He’s firmly on my watchlist and could even make an appearance in my team this week.

Vardy on the wane?

Another blank for Vardy. I may also look to ship the foxes frontman this weekend as part of my captain strategy. Its not an easy decision though as he will be in most top teams and is still the highest scoring forward in the game. But Leicester seem to be grinding out 1-0 results and, unlike a lot of key assets, Vardy doesn’t have any extra games and doesn’t form part of my future captain strategy.

SFFF League

Timothy Ayre brought home an impressive 85 points as he tops the weekly rankings and moves up to 27th in the league.

How did you week go?

Let me know in the comments!

Amazing overall position Will, you have to be in with a shot from there surely?!

Similar week for me with 57 points, although it would have been far worse had it not been for Wes Morgan!

Was enough to push me just inside the top 400 though so happy with that, going in the right direction at least.

With only 7 transfers left, decisions now need to be made on Vardy, Mahrez, Ozil and Wimmer.

Cheers Paul, its been a very good season for me. Don’t think I can win it overall but will hopefully win most of my cash leagues and aiming for top 10 finish.

You’ve had a decent one as well by the looks of it. With all the fixture pile ups the next few weeks are going to be crucial. 7 transfers should be plenty to see you through, you could even get top 100 form there.

Would be great if I can push on but anything higher from here on in would be a bonus anyway as I’m already on for my highest ever finish.

                Yep, thats me.

Group has definitely helped, just wish it had been available at the start of season to help talk me out of 1 or 2 dubious transfer choices! Ha

Really enjoying reading your posts Will, has been fun trying to bridge the gap to you since I found the site. Cracking week for me with 81.

I’m also looking at ways to change my strategy around to fit in KDB. Lots of planning to be done over the next few days!

Brilliant week for you Sam! Just seen where you are in the league.. Not to far away now and with two teams!

How many transfers do you have left?

Cheers mate. Only 4 transfers left so slightly less than ideal but should be enough to see me through providing I don’t get any injuries.

Thanks for the great article as always Will, always good to hear your thoughts. Your team is looking in great shape for such a big gameweek ahead.

Could really use some advice on my team, i made a huge boob midweek and forgot to transfer Kane out for Lukaku which would have set me up nicely for tomorrows fixtures.

    Heres my team:
    Forster
    Dier Fuchs Monreal
    Alli Mahrez Ozil Payet
    Aguero Kane (c) Vardy

    7 transfers remaining.

Couldnt have picked a worse time to forget that Lukaku transfer! Now im playing catchup straight off the bat. Would you keep Kane as captain for the Stoke game?
Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated.

Think you may have dodged a bullet – looks like Lukaku is unlikely to start tomorrow.

You have to keep Kane as captain really. Then captain switch to Aguero. Then you could follow my plan with trading out Aguero for a Liverpool player before bringing him back in the following week.

Problem with this is that picking a liverpool player who will play both is difficult but at least you will be able to see the line up on Wednesday before making a decision.

Does that make sense? Good luck!

Thanks Will, that i never knew re: Lukaku. A small consolation perhaps.

And yes, it makes perfect sense. Ill probably go with that plan. More hassle than its worth to try work around Kane i think.

Thanks again, its appreciated. Good luck and keep up the good work!
