Didn’t get round to the usual “All Set” article this week. But with just one big decision left, I share my thoughts as it promises to be a crucial.
4.1 banked
2 transfers left
Alli out
I had strongly considered leaving in the young player of the year. But, after much deliberation, I think there are more points on offer if he makes way.
Firmino / Fabregas. 3 possible routes here and they all depend on the Liverpool line up tomorrow. If Firmino starts (I don’t think he will), then I’ll transfers him in for Sanchez. This frees up funds to take Alli out for Fabregas. This route has the most captains, but I’m not 100% set on Firmino as an option.
Smalling/ Sturridge. If Firmino doesn’t start and Sturridge does, I’ll make the move for the Liverpool frontman. If this happens, I can’t transfer in a Chelsea player for Alli due to lack of funds. With United still fighting in the league, an extra fixture and a resolute defence, I hope Smalling can grab at least 2 clean sheets for the run in.
Smalling / Defoe. If neither of the Liverpool duo start, I’ll only be drafting in Smalling. I’ll then look to use the other transfer to get Defoe in for the last couple of matches. Another option here is to bring in Fabregas for Mahrez on Monday instead.
With Robles benched and a Sanchez blank its been a slow start to the week. I’m hoping whichever route I take will give immediate returns. Although my main focus is holding position in my cash leagues, I still harbour faint hopes of getting that illusive top 10 position.
Looks like the first decision has already been made for you Will. Liverpool echo reporting that Firmino has not even travelled to Wales.
I hope either remaining option works out, as I aim to be on both the Smalling and Fabregas trains!
Good luck whichever way you go 🙂

Sturridge and Smalling in. Fingers crossed Sturridge can do something today!

I have captain transfer to Aguero too.

Against my better judgement I’ve switched captain to Aguero today. Hopefully he still gets half an hour. Thankfully the lack of points from other captaincy options could get me out of jail.

Its been a very low scoring week for the main fantasy assets, think you’ll be fine

Mine was more of a passing transfer on route to Fabregas or Costa tomorrow, but any points welcome today as well!

First match of 4 didn’t produce much from our latest recruits!

An indifferent day for me today. Thanks to Klopp & his rotation policy, I once again decided against the Liverpool option. Put the armband on Aguero instead so turned out to be a no gain/no loss situation in terms of points.
Upside was I saved a transfer & Morgan nicked a goal so got I well & truly away with one.

Nice. Are you bringing in a Chelsea player for Aguero?

Seems the sensible play now but I have no idea who to switch for – Costa, Hazard or Fabregas?
Have 2 transfers left so the plan would be to switch today and then possibly swap it back to Aguero for his last two games v Arsenal & Swansea. Could go without him but that could be a huge risk.
Other option would be to switch out Ozil for Pedro or Willian (not enough funds for Cesc), miss out on a captain but save a transfer for a captain swap next week. Not convinced on this route but its an option to be considered.

Also tempted to blow both transfers today to shift Aguero and Ozil for Hazard and Fabregas. Would give me 8 games compared to 4 but again, no Aguero is a worry.
Anyone willing to make an argument either way to help me decide?

If you get them today, Chelsea players have 4 games to Aguero’s 2.

I have made a slight change of plan for tonight.
Hazard instead of Costa: allows me to bring in Lanzini (3 fixtures) for Iwobi on Saturday.

Was all set to go Hazard and Fabregas but Hazard on the bench. So frustrating – not sure which route to take now.

Mmmmm
Which way are you going?

Will be mulling it over until the last minute but currently thinking just do the Fabregas move and hold the final transfer for a captain change next week.
Costa creeping into my thoughts with a single change though……

Sorry slow to the party! I would just go Fab to Aguero and bank the other… Not an easy call though

Aarrrgggghhhh!
Should I put in Pedro instead of Hazard, or go with the original Costa plan?

Would love to be able to go Costa & Fab so would be tempted by that and take your chances with Iwobi.
Considering the Pedro option myself though so…………..Aaarrrrggghhhhh!!

So I should put Costa (c) in for Aguero, so I can transfer him back on Sunday if required?

Sounds logical if you have the transfers. I may go back to my original plan of one change and then bring Aguero back for Arsenal game.
Would you go Cesc or Costa for Spurs/Sunderland if you had to pick only one?

Bonus points give Fabregas security, Costa has the explosive potential…

50-50 call. If it was me I would go Fab, just for security of points.
Costa is the more explosive option though.

Wow, tough call! Slightly Prefer B, but without Sturridge. You can use your other trade as an additional captain swap next week?
Not an easy one though, if you have thought more about it and prefer A, go with that!

Best to wait on Fabregas news. Switch to Hazard may be on the cards

Thanks guys, went for the security of Fabregas in the end. There was only two points between him and Costa despite the late assist so can’t be too dissappointed with that call.
Hazard turned out to be extremely annoying though!!

Very unfortunate, especially as Fab may get a suspended by the FA
